How did yoga become a part of your life?
I always wanted to do more yoga, but never really got into it like I wanted. Then I went through a huge life change and after all my negative emotions, I started rewiring my mind and working on meditation and trying new things I normally would never do. Teacher training was one of them and from that, having a devoted practice helps me physically and mentally.
What led you to a devoted yoga practice?
In America, I think the biggest misconception is that yoga cannot be a work out and yoga is only for females
What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about yoga?
Non negotiables.. My me time, taking care of myself. Doing/teaching yoga. Not staying put-meaning I have to get out and see the world/other cultures/nature
Name 3 non-negotiables in your life
Poses that challenge me the most are backbends. They feel wonderful, but because of how my spine is, im not supposed to bend that way and awhile after I feel the pain from it. So trying to balance teaching students backbends while also not doing it fully myself lol
What is the pose that challenges you the most and why?
Mantra would have to be "loka samasta sukhino bhavantu"
