Join Luna Ray for an inspiring weekend as we use a body-centered approach to explore the mystical and heart opening practices of bhakti yoga. According to Staci Hines, Somatic practices are about growing our capacity to be present with a wide range of sensations and emotions. We will study and practice Bhakti Yoga, including mantra, song, ritual and more to expand our Somatic awareness, and our ability to feel alive and connected to ourselves, each other and the world around us.
Fri. April 21, 6-9pm: Soma, Mantra and Magic
In sanskrit, Soma means the “juice of life”. Mantra means “to protect and purify the heart and mind”. This evening workshop will begin with a simple study of *Somatic Experiencing (™), and a short accessible bhakti yoga asana flow to integrate what we learn. We will then learn the in’s and out’s of mantra, from the language of, to the history of, to the science of, to the psychology of. The evening will conclude with a powerful Bhakti yoga ritual that will merge, mantra, community, and somatic practices. This will give us access to “the juice of life”, and the magic will emerge. You will need a yoga mat and a sacred object that is meaningful to you. (i.e.- pic of family, something from the earth, jewelry, etc…)
Sat. April 22, 9am-10am: Soul of Voice
Within each of us is a unique and powerful instrument called our voice. Modern science supports what the ancients knew, singing relaxes, nurtures and heals the body and soul. Our voices have the power to ignite our innermost truth and connect us more fully to our authentic selves. In this workshop we will cultivate a safe space to explore and empower our relationship to our own voice (5th chakra-Vishuddi). We will use the practice of chant and somatic experiencing to allow our voices to emerge, and understand the powerful connection that our intentions, our stories and our dreams have to our authentic, happiest self.

In this workshop, we will explore mantras and their power more specifically. We will look at the energetic effects of mantras on our own bodies and minds, and how their mythology, stories, and symbolism can serve us in our daily lives and practices. We will learn the different types of mantras, and different techniques for how to effectively and accessibly use mantras.
