About Our 200-hour Teacher Training Program
Interested in becoming a Day Yoga teacher or do you simply want to deepen your own personal practice? We offer a 200-hour Teacher Training Program recognized by Yoga Alliance. This Hatha based training will focus on Power Vinyasa, Gentle and Yin Yoga. Fall training will usually meet for one weekend per month with two weekends including a Friday night. Please note there will be one make-up weekend available during the training.
The cost is $3000 or $3200 with the monthly payment plan. There is a non-refundable $250 deposit due with the application that will go towards the cost of the training. All teachers in training that are registered in a current program will have access to unlimited yoga classes at Day Yoga to encourage a regular yoga practice.
Yoga is a journey toward spiritual, mental and physical wellness. It is union, unfolding within and all around. The timeless teachings of yoga have not only survived through the ages but also thrived in this modern era. Through yoga, we are inspired to live simply and compassionately, dedicated to realizing our potential, our truth. The benefits are immeasurable…
Teaching yoga is a natural extension of your experience of it, rather you intend to teach in a classroom setting or simply by affecting others through how you live in harmony in your own life. As you learn and experience, you will grow and inspire those around you to come along on the journey.
The Day Yoga Foundational Yoga Teacher Training is a holistic and experiential approach to Hatha Yoga. We will explore multiple styles of asana as well as meditation and pranayama. Students will be exposed to a variety of yogic perspectives through numerous special guest yoga teachers.
The teachings will be expressed through 180 hours in the class setting and 20+ home study, practice, practice teaching and karma yoga. Topics of study will include:
- Power, gentle and yin yoga practice
- Yoga history and philosophy
- Pranayama and meditation
- Physical anatomy and physiology
- Subtle anatomy and chakras
- Mantras, mudras and kriyas
- Ethics and lifestyle
- Class sequencing and themes
