15 Hours CEUS available for full weekend through Yoga Alliance.
Led by Matt Eshleman, ERYT500 & YACEP
Yin Yoga offers a necessary balance in a predominantly Yang culture. Learn the art of letting go, all about fascia and its unique properties, and how to safely target and train it. This curriculum is designed for yoga teachers and experienced practitioners who would like to further explore the underpinnings of the Yin practice, and is intended to give instructors greater confidence in leading Yin Yoga classes. Qualifies participants for 15 YA CEU contact hours.
Schedule and details:
Friday 7-9pm Yin Yoga Master Class
A Yin yoga practice emphasizes slow, relaxed stretching and stimulating deep connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine, areas that most people struggle to fully mobilize. This style of practice is not only therapeutic for the body, it also allows for a calming of the mind and spirit, and a harmonizing of the energetic system. By drawing the student’s awareness away from the muscles and deeper into the bones a profound level of relaxed focus is achieved. Expect a practice that is accessible for all levels and abilities, and a sincere yet casual and sometimes humorous teaching style.
Saturday
10am-Noon - Yin Yoga led practice
1-6pm Yin Yoga Theory and Anatomical Principles
Understand how concepts of Yin and Yang apply to our yoga practice and explore the philosophical and anatomical implications. Learn how to safely and effectively train different tissues. Immerse in an elegantly simple model that emphasizes function over form, opens a more inclusive way of teaching, and provides a safer and more effective practice.
Sunday
10am-Noon - Yin Yoga led practice
1-5pm Yin Yoga Postures and the Art of Teaching
Learn to skillfully adapt to the needs of each unique student. Enhance body awareness in your asana practice, and broaden the scope of teaching postures and variations. A great study for serious practitioners to take a deeper look, and necessary for yoga teachers of any style.
Walk away with tools to more effectively observe your students, and create a dialogue to guide a student’s exploration.
